TIBA member Castelar College have been presented with the “Mercury Prize” from the Murcia Chamber of Commerce. Castelar College and Language academy were awarded the prize for “outstanding educational services” to the community by the Murcian Chamber of Commerce. his annual award is given to companies that not only provide an excellent quality of service whilst being innovative in their particular field, but also for delivering both nationally and internationally results to customers above & beyond their expectations.
Castelar have been actively involved in three very special achievements during 2010-2011 and should be recognized for their determination, perseverance and enthusiasm which has resulted in Castelar College and Language Academy being re-accredited by the Cervantes Institute, the Accreditation of Middle States America (one of the highest global quality systems in formal education) and this the MERCURY PRIZE award.
The gala dinner and presentations took place in Murcia & was hosted by the regional government. The award was presented by the Minister of Education (Mr Sotoca) to Pilar Valdés Arroyo on behalf of the successful team that is Castelar.
TIBA were presented with a “Platinum Certificate of Appreciation” by the Torrevieja Costa Lions Club for their help with the charity. The award was presented at The Lions Gala Ball on the 9th April 2011 in Rojales and was presented to TIBA president Richard Cavender by the Torrevieja Costa Lions Club president Ian Bennett. In September 2010, TIBA sponsored and presented the Business of the Year Award at the CoastRider Pride of Spain award ceremony. The awards are presented after nominations are put forward and a panel of judges decide who goes through to the final. Each finalist is then invited to an interview and is filmed by Viva TV. The winners are not announced until they are presented “Oscar” style on the evening.
Richard Cavender the TIBA president stated “The Pride of Spain Awards is very well known and is talked about for months. At TIBA we know that we need to reach as many people within the business community as we can. Sponsoring the Business of the Year Award was an ideal way to support local businesses and inform business owners of how The International Business Association (TIBA) can help them on a daily basis.”
