Starting a business in Spain can be daunting
but over the years, the paperwork has become simpler.
You need to think
carefully about the market, the type of services that are needed and whether
you have the necessary skills to run your own business. You need:
Some capital behind you, as you may not make sales for some months. You
need cash to pay your way and keep yourself feed and clothed whilst
the business gets of the ground.
When opening a business, you need skills such as.-
- Knowledge of the product or service
- Marketing skills
- Sales closure skills
- Some knowledge of credit accounting
- Above all, a passion to be your own boss
It will take long hours, a great deal of hard work, a degree of luck and dedication
to get your business off the ground. |
SOLE TRADER OR LIMITED
COMPANY (S.L.)
If it is a small service company with just you and your partner
running the business, a sole trader status is simpler and cheaper
to set up. The accountants fees could be cheaper too. It is ideal
if the goods or services you buy to market
to clients, are from just a few sources.
If, however you plan to market and sell a wide variety of goods and services,
a limited company is usually a better idea. This protects you from problems,if
you have financial problems, as you are limited up to a guaranteed amount
of capital.
We have an accountant, as a TIBA member and they can explain the complete system
to you in English.
